Abstract:
In today’s world, technological changes and developments have become an undeniable reality that transforms our lives in various aspects. Among them, digital transformation, as one of the most profound and influential phenomena, is at the heart of these changes. Digital transformation is a broad and comprehensive change that can change the structure of businesses in general and help them achieve competitive advantage, and on the other hand, affect the way we communicate, work, and live. Given these comprehensive effects, the importance of studying digital transformation and understanding its dynamics has increased significantly. In this study, with the aim of discovering emerging opportunities in the field of digital transformation and understanding the structure of current studies, 4867 peer-reviewed articles from 2020 to 2024, collected from the “Web of Science” database, were examined using a topic modeling method based on deep learning and the “Bert” language model. The findings show that 26 different topics in digital transformation are being studied, which fall into 5 main streams, including implementation, organizational dimensions, digital transformation technologies, sustainability, and economic aspects. Among the topics studied, cyber-physical systems were identified as the dominant technology, digital health as the dominant application, and digital transformation strategies as the dominant organizational dimensions. The findings of this study also show that in recent years, research topics such as corporate financialization, decarbonization, and supply chain have emerged in the field of digital transformation research and have significantly attracted the attention of researchers in this field, indicating emerging opportunities in digital transformation studies. Overall, the results and findings of this study provide a comprehensive view of the structure and trends in digital transformation studies and, by introducing emerging opportunities in this field, draw a roadmap for studying the multidimensional phenomenon of digital transformation.
