Economics is a way of thinking, and the most important achievement that comes from studying economics is “thinking like an economist,” that is, the ability to identify the essential elements of a problem and find a solution to it in an analytical way. This method of economic thinking and analysis can be applied to a significant number of problems in a wide variety of fields.
The economics minor course has a great impact on the professional development of undergraduate students in their field and their greater understanding of the advances and complexities of today’s world, and it helps students think more logically, rationally, and accurately. On the other hand, given the presence of the country’s top talents at Amirkabir University of Technology and the desire of some of these students to continue their studies in economics, finance, and business; the existence of this course will be very effective in guiding this spectrum in the right direction.
The economics minor includes three mandatory courses: microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics, and two elective courses from a wide range of subjects such as game theory, innovation economics, energy economics, political economy, banking, international economics, international finance, financial management, investment management, financial markets and institutions, the economy of Iran, and selected topics.
