The Faculty of Management has experienced a 50-fold growth in the last two years in the field of concluding research and educational contracts.
According to the Public Relations of Amirkabir University of Technology, Dr. Mehdi Majidpour considered the establishment of an independent MBA group in 2008 and its transformation into a faculty in 2010 as the formation point of this faculty and said: “Our entire effort is to move this faculty to a new building by the end of this year.”
Referring to the volume of open education contracts of this faculty, Majidpour noted: “The volume of our educational contracts in 1400 was zero, but this amount increased to about 7 billion Tomans in 1403.”
The Dean of the Faculty of Management, Science and Technology added that an analysis of the volume of industrial contracts of this faculty shows that in 1400, there were five hundred million Tomans of industrial contracts in the faculty, and this amount increased to twenty-seven billion Tomans in 1403, including contracts and agreements.
The Dean of the Faculty of Management, Science and Technology mentioned that the number of students in the faculty in the Master of Science in Technology and Innovation Management, Finance and Marketing, Master of Philosophy of Science, Master of Information Technology Engineering, Doctor of Technology Management and Master of Energy Economics is 318 students.
Majidpour added: One of the important things in the faculty’s development program is the definition of new, strategic, interdisciplinary fields that are in line with the country’s priority needs, and added that in the past two years, the Doctor of Technology Management, Doctor of Marine Industries Management and Master of Energy Economics courses have recently been implemented.
The Dean of the Faculty of Management, Science and Technology said that developing businesses through the establishment of industry relations offices in strategic areas and the establishment of a Marine Business Development Center and a Center for Policy and Economic Studies have been among the faculty’s other development measures.
In terms of international cooperation, the Faculty of Management held a joint course on entrepreneurship and future skills with the Russian Academy of Foreign Trade in the past few months, which led to the formation of a new experience in the faculty. In the past, the Faculty of Management has had the experience of holding a DBA course with Maastricht University in the Netherlands, an energy management course with Delft University in the Netherlands, and an MBA course with Erasmus, which were useful measures in the international sector. Also, launching a PhD in business management and attracting international (non-Iranian) students are among the future plans of this faculty in the international sector.
The Dean of the Faculty of Management, Science and Technology stated: Membership in extensive domestic and international networks and communications, the ability to provide diverse management and business consulting services, holding income-generating courses for managers, and having young faculty members who are graduates of renowned international universities are among the strengths of this faculty.
He stated that achieving the status of a scientific authority and becoming an effective institution for solving the country’s priority issues and needs and playing an international role, especially in regional areas, are among the perspectives of this faculty, and continued: To realize this vision, missions such as “producing science at a global level and useful in solving the country’s problems”, “training knowledgeable, skilled and concerned human resources for solving the country’s problems”, “influencing the solution of the country’s problems”, and “consulting room for the private sector and government institutions” have been defined in the faculty’s strategic plan.
Majidpour mentioned playing a role in solving the country’s management issues as one of the other perspectives of this faculty, and noted: This faculty has 14 faculty members and 30 associate professors in three departments: business management, economics and finance, and science and technology studies.
He noted that this faculty plans to cooperate and interact closely with other faculties of the university, and in this regard, offering courses on the basics of entrepreneurship and innovation in the undergraduate program, business management in the master’s degree program, philosophy of science in the undergraduate and master’s degree programs, and engineering ethics in the master’s degree program are among the joint educational programs.
