Launching a Marine-Based Sustainable Development Consortium at Amirkabir University of Technology

The Dean of the Faculty of Management, Science and Technology of Amirkabir University of Technology announced the launch of a multilateral consortium of management, economics and sustainable development at the university.
According to the Public Relations Department of Amirkabir University of Technology, Dr. Mehdi Majidpour announced the launch of the Maritime Business Development Center at Amirkabir University of Technology, saying: With the launch of the activities of the Maritime Business Development Center at Amirkabir University of Technology, a multilateral consortium has been formed between the Presidential Institution, the Parliamentary Research Center, the Ministry of Economy and Amirkabir University of Technology to seriously pursue and implement the scientific implementation of maritime development policies.

He added: Accordingly, a meeting was held with the presence of the President’s Special Representative, Dr. Ali Abdolalizadeh, Dr. Babak Negahdari, Head of the Parliamentary Research Center, Dr. Morteza Zamanian, Deputy Minister of Economy and President of Amirkabir University of Technology.

The Dean of the Faculty of Management, Science and Technology of Amirkabir University of Technology, emphasizing that the implementation of policies related to the Maritime Development Document requires a reorganization of the country’s governance structure, the convergence of institutions, and the facilitation of laws and regulations, stated: The Maritime Business Development Center at Amirkabir University of Technology, as an academic institution, while generating ideas and thoughts, can be a suitable forum for dialogue and approximation of approaches between institutions and role-players of the government, university, parliament, and industry.

The Approach of Amirkabir University of Technology to Solving the Country’s Problems

Dr. Abbas Soroush, the rector of Amirkabir University of Technology, also considered this university one of the most influential universities in the country at this meeting and announced that the historical approach of this university has always been on participation in solving society’s problems.
Also in this meeting, Dr. Babak Negahdari, the head of the Parliamentary Research Center, stated that there is an organic relationship between the Faculty of Management, Science and Technology of Amirkabir University of Technology and the Parliamentary Research Center in scientific cooperation, and reminded: This relationship can be further expanded in maritime affairs.
He announced the readiness of the Majlis Research Center to provide further assistance to the university.

Dr. Ali Abdolalizadeh, the President’s Special Representative for Maritime Affairs, put forward suggestions including holding a high-level international meeting centered on Amirkabir University of Technology and forming a policy research consortium in the fields of management and economics, and continued: “The lack of scientific approaches in the fields of management and economics is a weakness that Amirkabir University of Technology, along with technical-industrial knowledge, can address and greatly assist the country in implementing maritime-oriented development policies and programs.”
